We heard about people building business from a seed of thought and gradually becoming visible, bigger and massive like a banyan tree and there are enough stories of this nature we do keep hearing.
Here is a story of a Gentlemen who rose from zero to 50Crores in a span of 18 years and his real success comes from his unforgiving discipline towards the basic fundamentals he employed in his business which he embraces even today like a ritual.
Hailing from a simple background with no luxury of inheriting any legacy, this gentleman started getting into a business of customized office stationery which was an alien world to him. This is a tough market with both organized and unorganized competition coupled with predatory pricing to disrupt the complete market from unheard players.
However, he stood apart, not because he is low on pricing, but he still follows the basic fundamentals even today which he initially started 18 years back and that is:
1. You need to knock every door for business
2. You need to knock every door for business
3. You need to knock every door for business
We have seen many companies with sound business models vaporizing into thin air.
We hear about companies struggling to survive and we hear about start up’s gushing out of every street and by lane with all energy and enthusiasm only to nose dive, may be because of “ THEY CHOOSE NOT TO KNOCK EVERY DOOR”.
Like a Farmer who ploughs his land every time without fail, irrespective of his harvest or sometimes being ravaged and destroyed by Nature’s Fury , do you have the tenacity of sticking to your fundamentals of “Knocking every door for business or making your sales army leave no stone unturned??”
As far as I am concerned, problems never exist with Markets, but it exists between the 4 walls of your mind.
Let’s connect or meet up – food for thought.
